My lastest spire is almost complete. Catalyst, shown here in the middle created a new challenge. I wanted to illuminate this one from the inside. It took many tests to determine the size and shape of the openings to let the light show through. Success came with a smaller prototype shown below.
It was exciting to see the effect of the inside illumination on this tabletop sculpture called Desert Glow. I can't wait to see Catalyst lit from within. Unfortunately, it will be a few more weeks before the big reveal. One of the sections was too tall and I had to remake it. All is not lost, though. I am using that section for another illuminated tabletop sculpture.
I'm so excited about this new series. It opens up so many possibilities. Stay tuned. . .
